Hi, my name is Doodles. As you can see, I am a Sheltie. Some people prefer to call me a Shetland Sheep Dog, or even a Miniature Collie. Whatever you call me, you better believe I love to herd, and I'm fast!

I am called a "working" dog. Other Shelties have jobs working on big ranches, herding sheep and protecting them from wolves and bears. My job is different because I live in a city. When my mom used to be a teacher, she would take me with her to Olympic View school where I entertained the children as a circus dog Now that I'm retired from circus work, I still keep busy chasing cats and birds out of my yard.  But mostly I rest.

When I first came to live with my family they called me "the puppy". My AKC Registration Certificate said "Layria Sweet Dreams" (yuk), but I thought my real name was Bowser. Then my Dad started calling me Doodles, and everybody else called me Brittany. It gets really confusing for a dog. I like to be called Doodles best. If you are interested, you can see my vital statistics .

Most of my neighborhood friends are dogs , but I also have a neighborhood cat friend.  I even have a dog friend named Oliver who lives in Alaska and my friend Peggy who lives in Germany!  My new friend is Kipper .  He lives right here in California and loves to go to the beach. Some people say that Kipper looks like me. I think that's silly - Kipper is a BOY!

My territory is really great. I sleep in my own bed in the garage, and have my own door so that I can go out in the backyard whenever I want. I even have a live-action SpyCam mounted on my dog house so you can see what goes on in my dog yard.
